History Alive!
A living history weekend that brings history alive! Visit with frontiersmen, civil war soldiers, homesteaders and more as you step back in time to the 1860s.
Victorian Christmas ball
Join us as we celebrate the holidays with a historic ball. A caller will be onsite to teach participants dances of the past and drinks and light refreshments will be served. Historic costumes or fancy Christmas dress encouraged.
Hot Dogs and Hot Rods: Ice Cream Social and Vintage Car Show
Join the Geary County Historical Society for their annual Ice Cream Social, this year with the added fun of a vintage car show!
Check out local vintage “hot rods” and then grab all your favorite ice cream social treats while you listen to music performed by: JCHS Pep Band, the Kansas Brigade Band and North 40!
It will be a community event you don’t want to miss.

Memories at the Museum: Secondary Education
Calling all Secondary Education teachers and administrators past and present! This is your chance to share YOUR memories as we collect the history of our county schools. Join us for a casual roundtable discussion as we talk all about Secondary Education in Geary County.
Historic Lawn Party
Join us for a historic lawn party at Starcke House! Make your own lemonade, try a hand crank ice-cream maker and play a few favorite historic lawn games!
STEAM Saturday
STEAM Saturday: Winter Homesteading Skills. Make your own candle and learn how to weave a basket as you explore the skills homesteaders would have needed to survive a winter in Kansas. STEAM Saturday is sponsored by United Way Junction City/Geary County
Annual Meeting Featuring Moose and WindDancer
Join the Historical Society for our annual meeting, open to all members and the community at large. We will have a special presentation by Moose and WindDancer, who will share what life was like for a 19th century plainsman and his family. Light refreshments will be served.

Acoustic Junction at St. Joseph’s
Join us on McDowell Creek for live music at St. Joseph’s Historic Church. This annual fundraiser for the restoration of the church is an community favorite with food, friends and good music!
